did the umpire die?
the ball went between the pole and the net, but it was underneath the top of the net band. According to the rules, the ball has to pass over the net after hitting a part of the net, this one went through. Rule 25a, the point should’ve been given to Ferrero, although it was impossible for the umpire to see if the ball went over or through the net.

The ball can hit the post and go in and it’s completely legal!!! The only question here is if the ball goes between the net and the post, sort of through the net. That’s why the commentator is saying the umpire made a mistake.
